Editorial correction — 27 September 2026: An earlier version of this 2026 article described the BGC–Ortigas Center Road Link as a project still about to open, treated a 12-minute journey as a measured outcome, and displayed unresolved reference markers. The project was inaugurated in September 2021. The 12-minute figure was a government expectation, not a current travel-time measurement. The earlier timeline, prediction and unsupported economic claims have been removed.
What the official record says
The Presidential Communications Office’s 30 September 2021 news release reported the inauguration of the BGC–Ortigas Center Road Link Project. In that release, the expected travel-time reduction between the two business districts was described as from roughly one hour to 12 minutes. This was a projection at inauguration; it does not establish how long any particular trip takes today.
An earlier Philippine Information Agency report of 18 August 2021, citing DPWH, described the 1.481-kilometer overall alignment and the construction schedule at that time. The September 2021 inauguration followed that report. These dates should not be presented as a new 2026 opening.
What remains to be verified
Current route access, closures and real-world travel time depend on traffic and official advisories. This site has not independently timed the route or verified a current average. Travelers should consult current road and traffic notices before relying on any journey-time estimate. Claims about property values, jobs or commercial effects also require separate dated evidence and should not be inferred from the road opening alone.
Source and method: The two government releases linked above support the historical timeline and the fact that 12 minutes was an official expectation. No present-day traffic measurement or economic impact study was used for this correction.
